Title: Reap The Whirlwind – The Untold Story Of 6 Group, Canada’s Bomber Force of WWII by Spencer Dunmore and William Carter, ph.D.
Description: In October 1942, a unique Canadian bomber force was formed to assist in the bombing of Germany during WWII. This force was called No.6 (RCAF) Group which originally comprised of 8 squadrons but which grew as the war progressed. The book tells the survivors’ accounts of their operations, life on and off the airfields and how the force was to become one of the best flying units of the war. It is an interesting book, a must for those with an interest in Canadian history.
Author: Born in the U.K., Spencer Dunmore went to Canada in 1954. He has written several novels, most notably, Bomb Run and Collision. In recent years, he has worked on military history with titles such as Wings for Victory (1994), Above and Beyond (1996), Explaining the Lusitania (1996). William Carter received his doctorate in military history from McMaster University. He has taught military history at the University of Western Ontario, Canada and at the time of this work taught at the University of New Brunswick.
