| Title:
The
Paras by Frank Hilton. |
|
Description:This
book tells the story of the Parachute Regiment which has
an enviable reputation among the British Army. The book
was written in the wake of the Falklands War when 2 and
3 Paras equated themselves so well. It follows a
group of recruits from their first day until they pass
out and complete their first jump from a balloon. But
interwoven into the book the author skilfully tells the
history of airborne warfare including Norway, Holland,
Crete and North Africa. It gives a fascinating insight
into the life of a Parachute soldier.
