Richard Feachem was a fieldworker for almost twenty years with the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland, is familiar with existing remains of prehistoric houses and funerary monuments in all parts of the country. Author of a ‘Guide to Prehistoric Scotland’, he has also contributed to the prehistory sections of the inventories of Stirlingshire, Roxburghshire, Selkirkshire, and Peebleshire, and has carried out archaeological work in all the other counties of Lowland Scotland, besides visiting many of the monuments of Northumberland and Cumberland. He is a fellow of the Societies of Antiquaries of London and Scotland, and of the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Anthropological Institute, and in 1965 was appointed Archaeology Officer, Ordnance Survey. |
