The
author was born on 18th January 1908 in Lodz, Poland. He
died on 22nd August 1974, in East Hampton, New York, USA
and was the presenter of the BBC documentary series, The
Ascent of Man which contained 13 episodes and was extremely
popular. Bronowski was originally a poet; he became a physicist.
After the Hiroshima bombing he became a biologist to better
understand the nature of violence. He is the author of many
books which include, The Identity of Man, The Face of Violence,
William Blake and The Age of Revolution and many others. |
