with the defeated Germans in 1919 and moves to the eventual
build-up of military power and explains how the German
army ripped apart the superior numbered French army and
allies on their way to the beaches of Dunkirk. It explains
in detail the structure and make up of the individual
forces and the tactics involved. It is a superb book.

The author was born in London
in1929. He worked as a railway clerk before he did his National
Service as a photographer attached to the Special Investigation
Branch. On his demob he went to art school at St Martins
School of Art, and then to the Royal College of Art on a
Scholarship. He has written a vast amount of books, too
numerous to mention but which have included Battle
of Britain and Fighter. |
