Gulf war were shot down by a SAM. When captured by the
Iraqis they were paraded in front of the worlds
media with battered and bruised faces. This book tells
of their build up to the war, the operational flying and
the eventual humiliation of capture and torture before
their eventual release.

Flt Lt. John Peters was born
in London in 1961. In 1980 he joined the RAF as a university
cadet. In 1988 he converted to Tornado GR1s and was
posted to XV Sqn at Laarbruch, Germany. On 17 January 1991
together with John Nichol he was shot down in the Gulf War
and held as a POW for 47 days. Flt Lt Adrian Nichol was
born in 1963 in North Shields. He joined the RAF in 1981;
in 1986 he was commissioned as a navigator. He was later
shot down along with the pilot John Peters and later released. |
