| Title:
Raiders Overhead by Barbara Nixon |
|
Description:This
is the story of a woman at the outbreak of WWII who volunteered
as an Air Raid Warden and then moved onto the ARP HQ in
Kensington, London which was largely male dominated. In
this candid account the author gives a down to earth and
sometimes funny account of one of the most horrific times
in Britain. This is a personal and highly readable account
of the blitz as seen from the people on the ground.
