John Prebble was born in Edmonton, Middlesex in 1915 and grew up in Saskatchewan, Canada. He later returned to the U.K. becoming a journalist. During WW II he joined the Royal Artillery. His wartime experience led to several novels. He is primarily known for his works on Scottish and American history. His books include ‘Disaster at Dundee’, ‘Culloden’, ‘Glencoe’ and ‘Lion of the North’ amongst many others. He died in 2001. |
