in London in 1921, John Terraine was educated in Stamford
and Oxford and went on to work for nearly twenty years in
the BBC and in 1963 he began work on the famous TV series
The Great War which he won many awards. He was
a highly respected author and this was his tenth book on
the subject of the First World War. His other books include,
The Road to Passchendaele, To Win a War, and Mons: The Retreat
to Victory. He died in 2004, aged 82. |
