Author: Juliet Gardiner is a historian. She was editor of History Today from 1980-85 and an academic and trade publisher for Weidenfeld & Nicolson. In 1992 she returned to academic life first at Middlesex and then Oxford Brookes University. She has written eleven books and edited four. Her most recent include ‘Over Here: GIs in Wartime Britain 1942-45, and her latest book ‘Wartime: Britain 1939 – 1945’ will be published by Headline in the autumn of 2004.
