Warfare the Story Of The Tanks In The Great War by Frank
Mitchell MC |
|
Description:
The
full title of this book is Tank Warfare the Story Of The
tanks In the Great War and is a highly readable account
of the development of the tank in WWI. The author first
wrote this book in 1930 and he had a clear advantage as
he was a Tank Commander fighting in the first tank to
tank battle. He investigates the origins of the tank,
the development and the concept. He describes all the
tank battles of the war and also devotes space to the
less publicised aspects like training at home, the depot
and the thrill of the first tank ride. It then ends with
the use of tanks in Egypt and the formation of the USA
Tank Corps. This is a must for those interested in this
form of warfare.
