| Title:
Later
Roman Britain by Stephen Johnson |
|
Description:
This
book charts the end of Roman rule in Britain and takes
the reader into the so-called Dark Ages of
British history. This era saw the breakdown of Roman administration
and saw the beginning of Saxon settlements. It looks at
the barbarian neighbours and how Roman Britain defended
itself against its many threats. The final chapter assesses
the arrival of the Saxon settlers and provides pointers
into how continuity was maintained between the Romans
and the Saxons in an age where the historical information
is scarce.
