full title of this book is Corsican Command A dramatic
first-hand account of clandestine operations in the Western
Mediterranean, 1943 1944. In it Patrick Whinney
gives an account of how in the autumn of 1943 he was appointed
to organise clandestine transport of secret agents and
resistance personnel to and from enemy territory from
the advanced base in Corsica. This was done with the newly
captured MAS boat which were taken from the Italians.
The author captures the readers attention in this
factual account in which he describes the individuals,
the operations, the danger and the humour during these
dangerous missions.
